Assignment To Kill (1968)

Synopsis: International intrigue abounds in this tale of an insurance investigator on the trail of a dodgy European bigwig whose ships have a habit of going belly-up. The hero is played by Patrick O'Neal, while his prey is none other than a busking John Gielgud, whose lilting tones add a touch of class to the proceedings.

Peter Van Eyck and Herbert Lom play heavies, Eric Portman is a corrupt civil servant, while Oscar Homolka pops up as an apoplectic Swiss policeman. No one bothered with it at the cinema; on TV it's a fair time-waster.

Cast: Patrick O'Neal, Herbert Lom, John Gielgud, Joan Hackett.
Runtime: 97 min
