Synopsis: The Desert Song is perhaps the most loved of
all the musical adventures. The sky above, the sand below and a song in their
hearts. Of the three versions of this classic, the 1953 version is by far the
most lavish. The movie version of "The Desert Song," with Gordon MacRae and
Kathryn Grayson, is a musical movie, but in many significant respects it bears
only a passing resemblance to the stage version. Gordon Macrae is the handsome
dashing hero, who happens to have one of the greatest singing voices ever.
