The Gods Must Be Crazy [1980] |
Starring:
Marius Weyers, Sandra Prinsloo Directed by: Jamie Uys |
|
| Plot
summary: For 5,000 years things have stayed pretty much the same for Xi and
his fellow Bushmen. Then one day an empty Coke bottle falls magically from the
sky and life goes topsy turvy in the face of the generous 'gift of the gods'.
When Xi sets off to return the mystical present, he encounters a romantic
microbiologist, a schoolteacher and a band of terrorists all enmeshed in a plot
so insane, it could only happen in a 'civilised' world. An international
sensation, 'THE GODS MUST BE CRAZY' is one of the most original and thought
provokingly entertaining comedies ever. Starring a real-life Bushman, N!XAO,
it's a movie that looks at us from the other side - as shows us just how CRAZY
we are. Deleted since September 1995. |

Starring:
Lena Farugia, Hans Strydom Directed by: Jamie Uys |
|
| Plot
summary: "A comedy of even more absurd proportions..." The gods may be
crazy, but they certainly have a sense of humour! Why else would they send
tongue-clicking Kalahari Bushman Xi back into the mad world of civilisation?
This time Xi must rescue his two children who have stowed away on mankind's
latest technological achievment - a Jeep! The only problem is that Xi keeps
coming across so-called civilised people who are in more urgent need of rescue
than either of his kids! This hilarious sequel to the original film, which was
one of the biggest international hit films of all time, is destined to become
another celestial sensation. Deleted since September 1995. |
