The Carey Treatment (1972)(dvd)

Synopsis: James Coburn fails to convince as the Californian pathologist trying to disentangle a colleague from a frame-up in this bizarre murder mystery involving a Coma-style hospital racket in body parts.

It's directed by Blake Edwards, who is better known for The Pink Panther comedies, and he's clearly not at home with this sort of drama. As the body count rises, this veers towards self parody, and perhaps the presence of Inspector Clouseau would have been more appropriate.
