The Amorous Adventures of Moll Flanders (1965)(dvd)

Synopsis: After Tom Jones cleaned up at the box office and the Oscars, this rollicking 18th-century yarn was rushed into production, using the same composer (John Addison) with James Bond director, Terence Young, at the helm.

Adapted from the novel by Daniel Defoe, it's a Hollywood concoction that rarely comes off, while Kim Novak isn't anyone's idea of the English workhouse girl who sleeps her way to the gallows and beyond. Hugh Griffith, so memorable as Squire Western in Tom Jones, also makes an appearance here as Novak's prison governor.
