Terror on a Train [1953] [DVD]Glenn Ford (actor) Anne Vernon (actor)
Format: all-region dvd (worldwide) Runtime: 90 min Quality: Digital
There are few more effective situations for building up tension than the race to defuse a ticking bomb. In this British thriller, Quebec-born Glenn Ford plays a Canadian engineer searching for a bomb placed on a freight train. Meanwhile, the police hunt the saboteur.
The direction is by former cameraman Ted Tetzlaff (noted for his suspenseful handling of The Window) and he does an effective job visually, but the details of everyday life sometimes ring false and the story is somewhat padded out, even with its brief running time. The film was first shown in Britain as Time Bomb. |
