Sherlock Holmes In New York (1976, TV, dvd)

Synopsis: Roger Moore as Sherlock Holmes, Patrick Macnee as Dr Watson and John Huston as Professor Moriarty enliven this TV-movie outing for Conan Doyle's inimitable hero, which involves Huston messing with the world's gold supply.

Asked why he decided to play the part, Huston said: “Well, I have the time, I can use the money and Moriarty is a part I was born to play.” Having already created one of modern cinema's great villains — Noah Cross in Chinatown — Huston slips into Moriarty's shoes with ease and completely dominates this enjoyable movie.
