Manhunt (1972)
Synopsis: This typically
derivative Italian thriller is a curiously bloodless affair, despite the
requisite high body count. Director Fernando Di Leo, who worked with Sergio
Leone on A Fistful of Dollars, directs this tale about Mafia inter-gang feuding
with a breathless predictability.
Luckily Mario Adorf is aggressively
believable as a small-time thug framed for a six-million-dollar heroin heist
and pursued by avenging hit men. It's also nice to see the Thunderball duo of
Adolfo Celi and Luciana Paluzzi back on the screen together. Stylistically
flat, this is clumsily dubbed to boot, although I guess that's half the fun of
these pictures.
