Isadora (1968)(dvd)

Synopsis: Vanessa Redgrave superbly and insolently scandalises as Isadora Duncan, the improvisational and influential dancer whose life and career helped jazz up an earlier Jazz Age. She moves from James Fox to Jason Robards (marvellous) to Ivan Tchenko before her bizarre death — a broken neck caused by her scarf becoming entangled in the wheel of a sports car.

Director Karel Reisz uses Isadora's life to celebrate a free-and-speakeasy era. Redgrave was Oscar-nominated for best actress but lost out to Barbra Streisand.
