Indiscreet (1988)(dvd)

Synopsis: What did Robert Wagner and Lesley-Anne Down hope to gain from this remake of Stanley Donen's patchy, but nonetheless hugely enjoyable, 1958 adaptation of Norman Krasna's hit play? It was surely obvious that they would be compared to the original stars, Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman, and would be found wanting.

What's more apparent is that after a dozen indifferent TV movies, director Richard Michaels was going through a rehash phase, as 1988 also saw him tackle the old Howard Hawks classic Red River (again to little effect). Watch if only to remember just how good Grant and Bergman really were.
