Della (1965)(dvd)

Synopsis: Joan Crawford's once-glittering career was in terminal decline by the time this dreary, second-rate TV movie was made, despite her memorable performance alongside Bette Davis in What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? just a few years before. In an attempt to capture the film noir style that had made her name, Crawford plays a mother who keeps her beautiful daughter prisoner in a vast mansion.

Sadly, despite the promising premise, the end result is a boring and predictable mess, only saved from total failure by Crawford's valiant attempt to rise above the material.
