Damnation Alley (1977) (Sealed R2 dvd)

Synopsis: Roger Zelazny's much-admired sci-fi novel about the aftermath of a nuclear holocaust is given an utterly pedestrian treatment in this adaptation by director Jack Smight. Featuring psychedelic visual effects that are really quite awful, it follows five survivors of the Third World War as they cross America in a futuristic tank driven by George Peppard, looking for others after receiving mystery radio signals. Lacklustre acting, tedious exposition and laughable rubber monsters - giant cockroaches and scorpions, if you please - damn this forgettable, regrettable misfire.
