Synopsis: One of the best British second features ever made, this is a tense thriller, which hooks the viewer from the beginning, then springs surprises right until the end. The life of a truculent bank manager (Peter Cushing in one of his least-known but most complex roles) is changed when he is visited by “insurance investigator” André Morell.

Director Quentin Lawrence, whose TV credits include Coronation Street and The Avengers, controls the suspense with such skill that it's a surprise his movie career didn't take off.
