Synopsis: “All the Brothers Were Valiant carries the salty tang of the sea in every foot of its length,” puffed MGM's publicity for this watery yarn about whalers, mutiny, dusky South Seas maidens and exotic pearls. All that's missing is a giant squid and a tidal wave!

Robert Taylor and Stewart Granger are on good form as the eponymous siblings, while veteran actor Lewis Stone — Andy Hardy's dad — puts in an appearance in what was to prove his final film. (He died tragically from a heart attack that same year.)
