Synopsis: This is a lifeless,
excessively complicated detective story that fails to deliver suspense, wit or
romance. Kirk Douglas is wasted as the ex-cop hired by Eli Wallach's wily
lawyer to protect Sylva Koscina, young unfaithful wife, on trial for murdering
her husband.
Douglas brings his usual vitality to bear but Koscina is
bland and there is no energy between them. Kenneth Haigh portrays a playboy and
Ali MacGraw makes her screen debut.
